It's Your Neighbourhood
Wednesday, 28th October 2015 Friends of the Barnhill Rock Garden were presented with an It's Your Neighbourhood* accolade - a Certificate of Distinction - by Kathryn Bennett of the Scottish Power Foundation, at an awards ceremony in Stirling’s Albert Halls last week. Ann Taylor and Isobel Turner were there to accept the Certificate.
It’s Your Neigbourhood is organised by Beautiful Scotland and is based on the three themes of Horticultural Achievement, Environmental Responsibility, and Community Participation.
15 groups, including the Friends of the Barnhill Rock Garden were also awarded a Certificate of Distinction. The award is given to groups which have consistently grown and improved their performance over the years that they have participated in the It’s Your Neighbourhood campaign. Ann Taylor and Michael Laird represented the Friends in the group photograph.
October 2014 -The Friends were delighted to be presented yet again with a Level 5 – Outstanding – Award by the RHS and Keep Scotland Beautiful (we were awarded 95 points out of a 100) along with a Certificate of Distinction for our continued improvement in the scheme. The presentations were made at the Beautiful Scotland and It’s Your Neighbourhood Annual Seminar at the Albert Hall in Stirling on Monday, 27th October 2014. The presentations were made by Ursula Hauptmann-Smith, Charity Trustee, Keep Scotland Beautiful. The event was chaired by Mark Bevan, Head of Campaigns, Keep Scotland Beautiful.
In October 2013 the Friends were once again delighted to receive two IYN certificates - the first an Outstanding Certificate for their work during the previous 12 months and the second a Certificate of Distinction reflecting the progress made by the group since entering the scheme in 2008.
